How does coltiva work?

Coltiva is designed to work with two types of pumps, centrifugal and peristaltic, allowing it to adapt to a wide range of needs, from precise pH adjustment to pumping several liters of solution.

Peristaltic pumps

Peristaltic pumps are ideal for hydroponic systems because they deliver liquids with high precision and reliability. This makes them perfect for nutrient delivery and pH regulation.
Coltiva’s peristaltic pumps are housed in a dedicated case and are sold in pairs. This modular setup allows you to scale your system based on your needs. For example, a typical configuration uses four pumps: two for a two-part nutrient solution, and two for pH+ and pH- control.

Centrifugal pumps

Centrifugal pumps are used to move larger volumes of water efficiently within your hydroponic system. They are ideal for circulating nutrient solution, refilling reservoirs, or draining tanks. They can be used on their own or in combination with peristaltic pumps. When combined, centrifugal pumps handle water movement, such as refilling, circulation, and drainage, while peristaltic pumps take care of precise nutrient dosing and pH control. In larger systems, centrifugal pumps can also support nutrient distribution and help maintain stable conditions throughout the tank.

How to run the pumps

Control your pumps directly from the Coltiva app. Each pump can be activated individually, allowing you to dose nutrients, adjust pH, refill, or drain your system whenever needed, from wherever you are. You have the option to receive notifications when key parameters change, helping you decide when to intervene and keep your system within optimal ranges.
